According to the ordinance of the Ministry of Education, the spring semester at higher education institutions in Taiwan is to be postponed to February 25th and onwards. The semester is to last 18 weeks in accordance with NSYSU academic calendar. Today (February 4th) the University convoked the third meeting of the working group for the prevention of the COVID-19 epidemic to discuss the updates on the epidemic, assign related tasks, and the arrangements concerning students’ schedule and itinerary. The University decided to postpone the start date of the spring semester to February 27th (Thursday). The registration period is from February 27th to March 2nd and the last day of the spring semester is June 24th.

NSYSU established the working group for the prevention of the COVID-19 epidemic on January 26th to immediately respond to the updates on the epidemic, take appropriate measures and organize the “isolation area” and the “observation area” in the dormitories. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Government decided temporarily prohibit the entry of Mainland Chinese students to the Republic of China (Taiwan) after February 7th. The Central Epidemic Command Center added the Guangdong and Zhejiang provinces in P.R.C. to the list of epidemic areas. Responding to the expanding epidemic, the University is postponing the start date of the spring semester to February 27th.
