NSYSU’s IBMBA ranks top in Taiwan and 85th worldwide in Financial Times Master in Management Ranking 2020

On September 28, 2020, Financial Times (FT) published the 2020 Masters in Management (MiM) Ranking, listing top 90 MiM programs worldwide. This year, the Master of Business Administration in International Business (IBMBA) program at the College of Management at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) was considered by FT’s MiM Ranking for the first time, ranking as the top non-collaborative MiM program in Taiwan and 85th worldwide.

 

Financial Times 2020 MiM Ranking is based on information collected in two separate surveys. The first is completed by the business schools, and the second by the 2017 graduates, and evaluates alumni career progress, school diversity, and international experience and research. There are 18 evaluation criteria, including salary increase, career progress, percentage of women among the faculty, students and board members, international mobility.

 

The average salary after graduation among the 2017 IBMBA graduates was US$ 54,787 (approximately NT$ 1,604,586), reflecting a 54% increase after graduation – the 25th highest in the Ranking. IBMBA ranked 17th for alumni career progress in the level of seniority and company size right after graduation and today. This outstanding achievement demonstrates that IBMBA cultivates business talents that meet the needs of companies and help them grow.

 

The College of Management at NSYSU is characterized by its international learning environment and numerous exchange programs. The ratio of international to local students of the IBMBA program is as high as 1:1. IBMBA also ranked 44th for international course experience; the students engaged in numerous exchanges overseas, company internships, as well as study trips abroad. As for international mobility, a criterion comparing changes in the country of employment of alumni between graduation and today, IBMBA ranked 52nd among the ranked universities and 6th among those in Asia, indicating that the capabilities of its alumni are widely recognized by companies around the world.

 

In terms of school diversity, the percentage of female students of the College of Management is 64%, the 5th highest in the Ranking. The percentage of international students is 49% and the international board – 44%, ranking 31st and 29th respectively. Other survey items included the number of students enrolled, alumni overall satisfaction, and the percentage of the last graduating class that completed internships during the program; these were not included in the score for ranking.
