Exhibition Date: 3/15-8/12
Place: 2F Exhibition Room, Koahsiung Museum of History
Open Hours: 9:00-17:00, Tuesday-Sunday (Monday closed)
This exhibit of “The American Dream: Stories of Taiwan Residents who studied in the U.S.” will showcase the periods of “1895~1945 (the Japanese colonial period),” “1945~1980 (from Taiwan Retrocession to severance of diplomatic relations between the R.O.C. and the U.S.),” “1980~2000,” and “2000~present.” Significant figures who studied in the U.S. and their subsequent impact and contribution to Taiwan’s overall development will be introduced as background for each of these periods. Through this exhibition, viewers will gain a deeper understanding of the “history of Taiwan students studying in the U.S.” Hopefully this will in turn encourage more students to select the U.S. to be their chosen destination for further studies.
