1.整合中南部教育資源，由國立成功大學、中山大學、中興大學及中正大學4校組成「臺灣綜合大學系統」，首任系統校長由國際高溫超導體權威、中研院院士朱經武出任，昨天（5）舉行校長布達典禮，朱經武期許未來能帶領4校擠進世界一流大學。
To synthesize the educational resources from the central and southern parts of Taiwan, four universities have formed the Comprehensive University System of Taiwan. These universities are National Chung Kung University, National Sun Yat-sen University, National Chung Hsing University, and National Chung Cheng University. The first Principal of the Comprehensive University System of Taiwan is Chu, Jin-wu, who is also internationally well-known in the field of high temperature superconductor, as well as the academician of Academia Sinica. Yesterday in the ceremony where Principal Chu officially became the leader of the university, he expects to make the four universities top universities in the world university rank.
2. 創世基金會從75年起，開始在全台16個地方籌建植物人安養院，而將邁入第26個年頭的創世基金會台北植物人安養院，許多常用的設備都已經老舊需要換新，加上近來捐款或發票捐贈銳減，因此發起「”票”亮人生•愛心饗宴」活動，希望外界認購餐券，支持台北院區將老舊設備汰換。
From 1986, Genesis Social Welfare Foundation has established nursing homes for people in the persistent vegetative state at 16 different locations in Taiwan. Among these nursing homes, one of them that situates in Taipei, which was established 26 years ago, has many quite frequently used equipment need to be replaced due to their rundown status. Lately, since the donation from cash or invoices is decreasing, the Foundation has initiated an activity urging people to purchase meal vouchers; the profit from this will be utilized in the replacement of the old equipment.

The National Education Radio has being utilized the high-tech to be more advanced. This radio station is an ideal place for schools of all levels to conduct the media education. 4.美國即將舉行總統大選，但經濟情況持續低迷，讓不少第一次拿到投票權的學生，以及找不到工作的失業族，成為拒投族。琳達（Linda）是在紐約念設計的大學3年級學生，龐大的就學貸款，加上紐約高昂的生活費用，讓她得打上3份工，才能勉強維持生活。問她會不會去投票，琳達很直接的說「不會」，「即使有時間投票，我寧可睡覺」。
In the US, the Presidential Election is on its way while the economic outlook is still negative. This has resulted students who can enjoy their voter’s right for the first time jobless, which makes these people refuse to vote. Linda is a junior studying for her Bachelor’s Degree in design in New York. She has to work for three different part-time jobs to afford her expensive tuition loans and the living expenses in New York. When asked if she would vote for in the Presidential election or not, she directly replied, “No, even if I have the time to vote, I would rather take a nap or sleep longer.”
