2022-12-05

(Provided by the College of Management) The Financial Times (FT) announced its Top 100 Executive MBA Ranking 2022, and National Sun Yat-Sen University was ranked 91st in the world, making it the only school in Taiwan to make the list. EMBA alumni of NSYSU College of Management were recognized for their excellent corporate performance, and alumni satisfaction was particularly outstanding.

The Financial Times Top 100 EMBA ranking is one of the most authoritative rankings of EMBA programs in the world. Alumni who graduated three years ago are the targets of the survey. The evaluation criteria include Career Progress, School Diversity, research and Environmental, Social and Governance (Research/ESG). Career Progress investigates the changes of alumni before and after EMBA, such as average salary and salary increase. In addition, it also includes a number of evaluations such as the diversity assessment of faculty, students, and the learning environment.

The survey target of this evaluation are alumni in the 20th class of NSYSU’s EMBA, who graduated in 2019. The salary increase rate from before studying to three years after graduation was 53%, reaching an average salary of USD 181,910 per year (about NTD 5,804,047). The Aims Achieved rate was 74%, ranking 7th among the Asian schools in the list, showing that the rich and diverse courses of NSYSU EMBA had a significant and positive impact on the career development of students after graduation. In terms of the diversity assessment of the college composition, the proportion of international board members of NSYSU College of Management was 68%, and the proportion of international faculty was 17%, showing that the NSYSU College of Management has achieved fruitful results in creating an international learning environment, attracting many outstanding international faculty members and students to Taiwan.

It is worth noting that the Financial Times attaches great importance to the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) evaluation of program assessment. Hao-Chieh Lin, CEO of NSYSU EMBA, mentioned that NSYSU actively promotes University Social Responsibility (USR), and the College of Management has set a precedent among all business schools in Taiwan in that regard. Since 2018, the College of Management has issued its Social Responsibility Annual Report, driving the faculty and students to implement the social responsibility of the college and promoting sustainable development all year round. Teachers introduce the concepts of environmental protection, social responsibility, and corporate governance in their teaching, and they are committed to cultivating outstanding talents with ESG and CSR awareness and action.

Hao-Chieh Lin mentioned that NSYSU EMBA was established in 1998. It is the first EMBA to be launched in southern Taiwan. For many years, NSYSU EMBA has been gathering the best and brightest of Taiwan’s enterprises under one roof and has been deeply committed to developing courses that combine the world's top management practices, expanding opportunities for international exchanges, and conducting many exchanges with leading local enterprises and experts through overseas study and collaborative short-term programs. Through the integration of academic and practical industrial resources, all students can learn new management strategies of trending industries.

In addition, in response to the increasing convergence of human resources and markets in the Greater China region, the Southeast Asia Free Trade Area (Association of Southeast Asian Nations, ASEAN), and Asia-Pacific countries, NSYSU launched the "Asia-Pacific EMBA Program (APEMBA)" in 2005. In 2011, NSYSU and Shanghai Tongji University EMBA jointly established the "Cross-strait EMBA (CSEMBA)" in response to the trend of high-tech network integration in Taiwan and China. Over the years, NSYSU EMBA has cultivated many alumni with high-potential as managers in an industry-academia exchange and diversified learning environment and has worked together with enterprises of all kinds to establish a sustainable business foundation and achieve the goal of a win-win situation for both industry and academia.

Shu-Chuan Jennifer Yeh, Dean of the NSYSU College of Management, said that the NSYSU College of Management has repeatedly won prestigious international professional business management honors and certifications. It has been included in the Eduniversal Global Top 1000 Business School Ranking for many years. Since 2019, it has continually received 4 Palmes of Excellence. In 2020, it passed the 4th re-accreditation examination of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The College’s degree of internationalization and the quality of teaching and research have been widely recognized. As the only EMBA in Taiwan to be listed among the Top 100 in the world, NSYSU EMBA will continue to work hard in the future and hope to achieve even better results next year.

In the Financial Times Top 100 Executive MBA Ranking 2022, the top spot was given to the EMBA program of Kellogg-HKUST Business School jointly established by the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
