NSYSU ranks top five in Taiwan according to the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has released its latest 2024 World University Rankings by Subject. NSYSU has 16 subjects listed, along with National Taiwan University, National Cheng Kung University, National Tsing Hua University, and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University are among the top five universities in Taiwan with the most subjects ranked, with Petroleum Engineering remaining in the top 100 in the world.
The Office of Institutional Research at NSYSU pointed out that this year, a total of 1,559 institutions worldwide have at least one subject ranked, and there are 25 universities in Taiwan with subjects ranked. In terms of field rankings, NSYSU is ranked 401st to 550th globally in the fields of "Social Sciences & Management," "Natural Sciences," "Arts & Humanities," and "Engineering and Technology." In terms of subject rankings, NSYSU ranks among the top five in the country for Petroleum Engineering (ranked first), Agriculture and Forestry (ranked third), English Language and Literature (ranked fourth), Economics and Econometrics (ranked fourth), Mathematics (ranked fifth), and Accounting and Finance (ranked fifth). Other ranked subjects include Computer Science and Information Systems, Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Materials Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, Business and Management Studies, and Education.
NSYSU stated that the QS World University Rankings by Subject evaluates subjects within five broad fields annually. The evaluation criteria include Academic and Employer Reputation surveys, Research Citations per Paper, and H-index. Some subjects also include the International Research Network (IRN). NSYSU has always adhered to the development strategies of equal values in both humanities and technology. In recent years, it has intensified efforts to promote internationalization and encourage international research collaboration, with outstanding performance in various fields. In this year's QS World University Rankings by Subject, NSYSU maintains subjects ranked in all five fields, evidencing commendable teaching and research accomplishments.
