National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) and Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (CGMH) have officially inaugurated the "NSYSU-CGMH Truemeiyuan Anatomy and Surgical Simulation Innovation Center." It will offer state-of-the-art anatomical medical education and clinical skills training to students from NSYSU's School of Medicine and related programs. The Center aims to provide advanced hands-on learning and training environments for medicine, nursing students, and clinical professionals.
NSYSU President, Chih-Peng Li, stated that the Anatomy and Surgical Simulation Innovation Center was made possible by a generous TWD 30 million donation from Mr. Yuan-Lin Wang, Chairman of Fulin Plastic Industry (Cayman) Holding Co., Ltd. This contribution, NSYSU's largest single donation from a non-alumnus to date, has funded the Center's renovation and equipment acquisition, providing significant support for medical education and clinical training at the University. Additionally, Mr. Te-Ho Yen, Chairman of Tian Cheng Yuan Man Industrial Co., Ltd., has contributed by donating memorial columbarium pagodas and supporting arrangements to honor the silent contributions of body donors. President Chih-Peng Li emphasized that the Center offers students and professionals a valuable platform for practical training, enabling a deeper understanding of human anatomy and enhancing surgical techniques and procedural skills. "The inauguration marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between NSYSU and Kaohsiung CGMH," he said.
Dr. Chih-Chi Wang, Superintendent of Kaohsiung CGMH, noted that the Center will serve as a dedicated training site for students from NSYSU's School of Medicine and Department of Nursing programs. It will integrate hands-on training with clinical scenarios, helping students gain real-world experience and bridge foundational knowledge with surgical competencies, ultimately cultivating healthcare professionals capable of meeting medical challenges.
NSYSU Senior Vice President and Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Yen-Hsu Chen, highlighted that the Truemeiyuan Anatomy and Surgical Simulation Innovation Center is equipped with industry-leading facilities, including high-efficiency ventilation systems, continuous negative-pressure air extraction, and year-round surveillance to ensure a pollution-free, safe, and comfortable learning space. The Center also features cutting-edge anatomical teaching tools such as LED surgical lights with 4K wireless cameras, which enable digital teaching beyond traditional limitations. These tools allow students and clinicians to observe procedures from multiple perspectives and support remote learning, regardless of time or location.
NSYSU stated that the inauguration represents the shared dedication of NSYSU and Kaohsiung CGMH to medical education and a significant step forward for Taiwan's clinical training capabilities. The University envisions this Center as a cradle for nurturing outstanding medical talent, jointly cultivated by both institutions. It will provide aspiring healthcare professionals with a premium learning environment, supporting their mission to heal and their dreams to serve.
